January 3rd 2012 will see the introduction of stricter Low Emissions Zone (LEZ) regulations in London – extending the measures already in place. This article explains what this means for businesses delivering within London. In the specialist transportation industry, the term “specialist” – particularly in the healthcare or medical sector – means delivery of sensitive equipment to a defined department, room or office rather than to a ‘goods inward’ area; it also means removing all packaging and positioning the instrument or machine ready for use; using specially equipped vehicles that are adapted for the transport of delicate or sensitive equipment; evidence of experience of handling and moving delicate goods; and showing attention to detail that matters when handling expensive instruments.
